The Pittsville Fire Company is a non-profit, private corporation with a history dating back to the late 1800’s. The company became a corporation in 1950 and EMS was established in 1971. We currently serve over 6,000 residents in 11 different political jurisdictions, covering 300 square miles.

Pittsville Fire Company is classified as a combination department with 30 active personnel who respond to calls. Members may work as a firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician or both. We respond to over 300 calls per year including: fire, EMT-Advanced, swift water, ice rescue, and MABAS responses. As a part of division 116, we also respond to and from our neighboring departments as part of our calls.
